Walnut & Rosewood Jewelry Chest

This design was an adaptation of Doug Stowe's cherry jewelry chest.  The overall dimensions are smaller, the joinery is keyed miters, and the bottom of the box and the tray are solid walnut, with the bottom being bookmatched.  The pull is a semi-precious stone and the center panel is raised.  The trim band is rosewood.  The finish is Formby's high gloss tung oil.  I made thirteen more for gifts of cherry, maple, butternut and paduak with a various species of keys, some contrasting and some not.
