Shaker Stool

The truth is I never messed with dovetails before, and was quite pleased with the effect they have on the look of this little piece. You can see the grain continuity of the single cherry board in this chot

This simple stool is great for little ones climbing to the sink, and for adults reaching high cabinets. It's 12"Hx12"Wx18"L. I modeled this stool on one that we bought years ago in a Shaker furniture store in Inverness, CA. I made seven of them last year and gave five away for Christmas presents. I was fortunate to obtain some 12" wide clear cherry, and the top and ends of the stools are made with one continuous piece of wood.
