Mark Edmundson: Out of the woodshop and into the woods

I use woodworking as a way to escape from my computer, to build something from scratch and to relieve stresses from work. But what do folks who work with wood for a living do when they need a break? Well, one of our contributors, Mark Edmundson, likes to live on the wild side--in his own backyard.

Mark is a professional woodworker who lives in a rural area of northern Idaho. He's lucky enough to have a large chunk of land to play on, so large, in fact, that he carved a single-track mountain bike trail all through the woods. This video gives you a glimpse of how Mark and his friends blow off steam when the snow melts. His track is full of wild trails and bridges (stick with the video to see the wicked see-saw bridge) made of wood--rugged examples of his woodworking and engineering prowess (he has mad biking skills, too). In case you're wondering, Mark is the guy in the red shirt. Enjoy, and let us know what you do to escape the noise and dust of your workshop.
