English furniture maker David Fletcher doesn't design furniture. He engineers it. Says his web site: "Our designs are frequently of a bold nature, genrously proportioned and installed in homes of grand scale. Innovation is key in commissions by DB Fletcher, finding solutions to awkward problems that have eluded others." No kidding. Check out Fletcher's line of Capstan Tables. Watching the tables expand and contract is like watching a magician do card tricks. You're always trying to catch the sleight of hand.
