Shot of both table and Buffet in the background. Both were constructed out of reclaimed old growth CVG fir. The lumber came from a 1892 Victorian home demolition in Portland, OR. I saw potential and grabbed it before it made it to the dump.
The table and buffet were constructed with traditional mortise and tenon joinery and were finished with a secret blend of varnish and non-toxic citrus based oils.
In this close up you can see the salvaged tounge and groove fir beadboard that was used to line the glass storage opening. Shelves are adjustable.
Close up of the very tight quartersawn grain.
All nails were removed prior to milling (obviously) and the holes were filled with a two part epoxy tinted black.

As a fulltime furniture maker I rarely find time to build something for us. It was nice to take something that would be in a dump by now and turn it into something that can be past on for generations.
