Son's Maple Bookcase

Dry fit bookcase and water applied to one section to bring out the figure.
Side panels are solid Curly Maple that was butterfly cut and edge glued to reveal the beautiful symmetry.
Floating tenon joinery used throughout with a ply back board.

Constructed from solid maple, curly maple and maple ply for the back.  Custom mixed gel stain and wipe on poly.  Curly maple sides were coloured with aniline dye and sanded down to "pop the curl", followed with boiled linseed oil followed with wipe on poly.
