Various elements of the Federal Period are interpreted in this Gentleman’s Dressing Table of my own design. The reeded bobbin detail in the legs and the prominent shaded fan challenge convention while keeping with the style of the period. The primary material is mahogany. Drawer boxes are quarter sawn sycamore. Veneer and inlay materials are crotch mahogany, mahogany, holly, maple and rosewood. The top is a figured sapele field with mahogany crossbanding and a rosewood and maple band with light and dark stringing. Finish is BLO shellac, lacquer and wax.
