I designed this panel style box to express some of the Art Deco style.I wanted to make a box that was formal in design then shape it free form, a contradiction.

This box has a Wenge body and Maple medallion inset into the lid, with Bloodwood accents.I prefer to use Deft spray lacquer for boxes, satin sheen, many coats as needed, sanded between each.(I dont use a spray booth,in fact I use the aerosol cans and set them within 5 ft of sawdust on my bench.Dust is not attracted to it like poly or oils.)

If you would like more info on how I build some of my boxes, then follow this link to LumberJocks and read my tutorial. Its very thorough and has many detailed photos.
