These mini-shop devices made a splash when they were unveiled at the AWFS tool show this summer. They’re essentially plastic pucks with grippy rubber on each face. Put four of them under a workpiece to maintain a firm grip for sanding, finishing, and routing. Magazine editor Asa Christiana called them biggest news from the AWFS show this summer. Watch this short video to see how they work and enter our giveaway to find out whether they’re worth all the hype.
To enter, FIRST CHANGE YOUR AVATAR from one of the stock woodworking images to one of your own. It can be a picture of you, something you made, or even an illustration. If you already have an avatar with an original image, you can enter the drawing now.

to Perdudan... just changed my pic, and a not so rare one of me drinking... er, sampling a fine Scotch. I think it's important to do something with all of that stuff so that I can get my hands on the white oak barrels for projects ;-)
BTW, the instructions neglect to mention that you must first click "log on"... then follow the above directions...

To be clear, I strongly suspect that the Rockler "pucks" (cookies) are more tacky, right? I'd be happy to contribute to comparison/evaluation results! Posted: 1:37 pm on October 21st
The bench cookies would be a nice addition. They are already on my shopping list. Posted: 8:06 am on October 21st
My picture is my workshop. It is the first true "building" I built (I assume dog houses and tree houses don't count). I am going to install vinyl siding on it to match my house in the spring.
I spent this summer on the house; next summer I hope to tackle the workshop.
I'll upload an "after" picture then.

Some time back I made a set of something like these involving toolbox drawer lining rubber and 2X4s. They work pretty well, but I suspect these may be better. Posted: 10:36 am on October 20th

The "bird" avatar thing...I saw these little guys crammed in the nest and thought...what an opportunity for a little home renovation. They all flew the coop before the Birdhouse was finished. Oh well. :( Posted: 9:56 pm on October 14th
:-)
it's funny, I just saw these cookies on the Rockler website last night and thought they looked like a great idea. Fingers crossed that I'm one of the lucky winners!

I have a 1 bedroom condo with a 11' X 20' yard. I transform my outdoor table from dinning area to wood shop on a daily basis. I love small, well thought out, multitaskers that really perform. The Bench cookies are excatly what I need.
I can't wait for the next great invention. Posted: 12:30 pm on October 14th
Sorry, couldn't resist!!
Been looking at these on Rockler.com lately... seem pretty handy!! But, thanks to FWW I've been devoted my shop time to tuning my newly aquired jointer, which is probably at least 10 years old! Anyone ever hear of IMS Jointers? Can't find them on the web! Posted: 11:49 am on October 14th
As for the Rockler store here in Atlanta/Sandy Springs, I can't say enough about the friendly, knowledgeable staff that goes with the products! Posted: 11:45 am on October 14th

I'd love to give to cookies a workout Posted: 8:33 am on October 14th
I put them on a table top and put a work piece on top of them and it never moves. Sanding or Routing is much easier with these.
Good luck to all in being chosen.

I hope to use them on my next project. It will be the hanging wall cabinet from your video projects.

Getting judged by the only means possible is better than getting lumped in the wrong group altogether.
Cookies are almost always good! Posted: 2:12 pm on October 13th
The guy said "Want some cookies?" I said "Sure!" not knowing he meant bench cookies.
I forgot about them and left them in the front seat of the car. A couple of days later my wife said "You think you're funny don't you? I got in the car and saw that package that said cookies on it and got all excited!"
LOL. The funny thing is they work great. I plan to buy another set if I don't win them.
