Hundreds of works by a host of influential modern furniture makers and designers will go on auction this coming weekend and the Rago Arts and Auction Center in Lambertville, NJ.

The auction includes works by well-known furniture makers Wendell Castle, George Nakashima, Wharton Esherick and Judy McKie, among many others. There are even a couple of plywood chairs by Frank Lloyd Wright. Also featured are works by Mid-Century designers like Charles Eames and Hans Wegner, along with less familiar contemporaries like Paul McCobb, Phillip Lloyd Powell and Harvey Probber.

Browsing the auction's catalog is a great way to spend your lunch hour. To view the catalog - or those of previous auctions - and to learn more about the upcoming auction, visit the Rago website.

The furniture is pricey, but the inspiration is free. Enjoy.
