Living Room Coffee Table

Table was designed for use, durability and beauty.  The species are maple and walnut.  There are no metal fasteners.

Detail of top.  Veneered hard curly maple.  It took me a while to find something that looked just right for the scale of the table.  I think it looks very nice.  The figure is usually covered by my cat.  :)

A coffee table that I designed and made for my wife and I.  We had an idea of what we wanted and came up with this.  I think it came out nicely.  It has a feeling of heaviness when viewed from the side but when viewed from above, it seems weightless.  The veneer helps to achieve this I think.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

I have a table project going on right now and have never used a veneer before so any info you share would be helpful.(I'm interested in a figured maple) Posted: 4:22 pm on October 27th
