A pair of round tables was made for the family room for the holidays.  The table is 24 inches high x 18" diameter.  The top is made of 10 sections of oak segmented into a ring.  The center is MDF with oak burl verneer and a ring of cherry inlay.  The cherry was steam bent.  The shelf  (16 inch dia.) is of similar design with qtr sawn oak veneer in a qtr matched pattern.  The apron was made from 3/8 inch bending plywood and covered with oak veneer.  The bottom edge of the apron is segmented African Mahogany.  The top is designed to twist off to reveal a hidden compartment.  The tables were dyed with a aniline dye and finished with polyurethane.
