twins double highchair

This is a solid maple highchair that I built for my twin boys.  The design is my own, although it is loosely based on a dining chair that I saw.  I turned or carved or shaped every single piece.  All of the joints are wood on wood (a first for me!).   It is finished with an antique milk paint and linseed oil finish.
Although I built the highchair for my twins, I added all three of my boys initials, because I didnt want to hear, Mom, why arent mine on it? in a couple of years!!  The initials are hand painted in a mustard milk paint.
Here you can see the detail of the finish which was an espresso water based stain, two coats of barn red milk paint and three coats of lamp black milk paint, followed by linseed oil and wax.

Tom05: My twins seem like they eat about 9 hours a day right now, so yes, they use it a lot! IT would be a while before I could get around to building another one, since I have quite a few projects lined up right now. But If I get time, I'll certainly let you know! Posted: 5:01 pm on January 18th
