Here is a toy crane I built for my son.  I don't know if it would be classified as fine woodworking, but it is very much appreciated by him.

It spins like a lazy susan when the pedals are turned thanks to a chain drive to one of the three caster wheels.  The hook can be raised and lowered by the hand crank.  A magnetic hub inside the drum the rope winds up on doesn't let too much weight get picked up.  If so it slips and the weight stays on the ground.

It is mostly built out of baltic birch and various hardware parts.

I have a video of it in action on my web site.
