Cave Box

Western "Big Leaf" Maple and Black Walnut.  Box bottom is just above the cave.  The lift-off lid handle echoes the cave shape.

Very nice box, best use of splined-mitre I have seen to wrap the figure around the corners. If the colours are really as nice as the photo shows, that is first rate. The knothole feature, figure and colour really go together well. I am curious whether you made this with a specific purpose - it always seems better when there is a driving force behind the design.
