Re: A Pad-Foot Leg in SketchUp
Thanks Dave, I understand how to make the bandsaw leg but I don't quite follow your explanation regarding the follow me tool. A demo would be very helpful and much appreciated if you would be so kind.

Hey Dave, from time to time I would like to use xray view to illustrate certain component features in my construction documents using scenes. The problem I run into is that I can't seem to make xray scene specific. It's all scenes or nothing.

Re: More Quick Dimensioning Tips
Hey, Dave thanks for the dimensioning tips. Let me share one with you if I may. Anytime you want dimensions to show in one view and not in another view of the same piece simply hide it and update the view. It will appear in one view and vanish in the other.

Tim, I have done a few breadboard table tops recently and discovered the quickest and simplest way I have seen for doing the mortises.
posted: 3:02 pm on October 28thBefore making components out of the top or the BB, simply draw the tenons on the top and copy them and the shoulder onto the BB after deleting the BB face. No flipping, no intersecting - you're done!
Re: Layers, Scenes, Dimensions and Construction Drawings
Thanks, Dave for the advice regarding the BF calcs in Cutlist.
posted: 9:11 am on May 20thDo you know why dimension columns will not sort correctly in cutlist. Other colums sort as they should. Is it the number marks (")or am I missing something else.
Thanks, again you are a great resource for all of us.
Re: Layers, Scenes, Dimensions and Construction Drawings
Hey, Dave, do you know the guy that designed Cutlis 4.0. If you do, would you pass along my suggestions to him.
posted: 8:39 pm on May 19thI was having trouble with the board foot calcs and found out that the program calculates BF incorrectly. In the formula, (length x width x thickness)/144, the thickness should never be less than 1. Cutlist uses whatever is listed in the thickness column. I could calculate the BF correctly if the inch mark(") was removed from the dimensions. The dimensions cannot be used in formulas with the inch marks present. I could remove them manually but that is very cumbersome in a large projet. Why offer the .CSV option in the program if the data is restricted like this. The inch notation could be made in the column heading, i.e. length(inches).
Thanks, Dave

Tim, thanks for this info and all you do for us SU users.
