Re: The New Front Porch...

Very Impressive!! You must be the envy of the neighborhood!

Re: Electric Guitar

Thanks! It sounds great! and plays pretty good too. I have a couple frets that are a little tall that I need to go back knock a little more off. I did make the neck but I did buy a pre-slotted and radiused fretboard from stewmac.com b/c the fret placement is critical plus the exra cost of the fret saw and miter box was a little steep! You are correct, the body is pretty straight forward. The neck is basically just time consuming but not that difficult just lots of hand work. I used a rasp and spokeshave mostly. Stewmac has some good books and videos on guitarbuilding too if you haven't checked them out already. I took some of the neck dimensions from my Les Paul and my Strat, but I left the neck a little on the fat side b/c that's how I prefer it. The walnut and maple body makes for great tone too. That's good thing about making everything yourself, you can experiment with different combos. My email is woodsmith67@gmail.com if you have any questions. I'm no expert but I know a lot more than I did! Happy building!

Re: Electric Guitar

Thanks very much! Are you interested in just the basic shape or what? I don't have any detailed drawings. After I got the shape I wanted, it was all done out of my head as I went along. I've never been good at putting things down on paper. Have you built any guitars or are you looking try one?
