Where is the rest of the story?

Re: Anyone with a saw

Clark,
I hope you dont mind if I use your design for my sons room? He is bugging me for a desk that wont take much space for some reason I never even thought a bout the corner. I have allways used this idea for shelves, great idea.

Re: Basement Entertainment Center

Vern,
If this was your first attempt at veneering, I would have to say I think you have figured it out. The works of Frank Lloyd Wright has allways fasinated me. You have done a wonderful job with challenging room.
You say you built this as boxes that you stacked, did you stack them on site? It would be a real treat if you were able to do a presentation of the job with pictures.

Re: The Ultimate Mobile Base?

And here I'm worried about gettin my 1034 lb jointer down off it's 6" high skid onto the concrete floor?

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Woodworker's Guide to Veneering & Inlay by Jonathan Benson.

More and more of the work I have been doing as of late could be made better, not really better but just that added touch more with inlay. Where I live now it's hard to take the classes I would like to take, just due to the traveling. So a lot of my learning has become self taught through the great books available on this web site. Last week I was at a Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Cincinnati and ended up buying 5 more books on wood working, just because I knew it would be a while before the next chance would present itself.
A free book that I dont have would be great. Moneys tight with the way the economy is right now. So anyway to save money is very welcomed.
Hope to hear it is on it's way on June 8th!!

Re: Sam Maloof: 1916-2009

This is a very sad day for the woodworking community. We have lost a icon. Sams passion for woodworking was incredible, he never minded taking the time to chat about his passion. I was lucky enough to have met him about 20 years ago. It is a memory I will always cherish.
My prayers go out to Sam and his family.

Re: Furniture Maker's Shop Destroyed by Fire

At least no one was hurt in the fire. Machines and material can be replaced. Thank God you had insurance!
Atitude is what gets you through the rough times in life. i wish you luck getting back up and running.
Your work has been a inspiration to me.
