Re: Tool Chest Contest Winner is Selected
A long, long time ago I was a charter subscriber to Find Woodworking. After a few years of looking to the magazine for help and education I cancelled my subscribtion. This is the reason why. The pieces showcased were beautiful and superb examples of what others could do. And maybe set goals for what I might someday accomplish. But the cancellation resulted from too much esoteric, useless, way out, far fetched, inefficient in design and execution work. Really, nine months of work and thousands of dollars in material to produce a tool chest for a contest. I had to earn a living.

Interesting stuff, these small shop posts. I have a small shop. You want to know how small? So small I can't get the tape measure in to find out. Seriously though. I've thought about putting a dust collector outside in an unheated space. My concern though is dampness in the filter bags making them unable to pass the clean air freely and reducing the effectiveness. I'll live with the heat loss if I can get rid of the dust. I'm also thinking about an air cleaner. Any comments on operating cost in terms of filters. Appreciate comments on both questions. Thanks, Jeff
