Re: Who Begot Who? Comparing Planes from Lie-Nielsen, Wood River and Stanley
I too started with cheap (really cheap) planes and was very disappointed with their use. My wife has taken the practice to buy me an heirloom tool on our anneversary. It is always a LN plane (that I specify of course!) Not only are they trouble free and well manufactured tools; they are also a joy to use and each one is special because it came from my wife. It's a way to involve her in my hobby. I also use the each of the LN's way more frequently than their cheaper cousins, they just work. Hows that go agian?...You get what you pay for.
